What is the purpose of a Buchner Flask and Funnel?

It is a simple and fast way of filtering mixtures The filter paper used is also coarser than high quality papers. It doesn't have to be 100% separated. That can be done with finer papers that will separate the impurities very well.. I have used the Buchner funnel many times and it has saved me hours.
