Do u underline or put quotations in a novel?!?

I really wish people would write in conventional English here. It's so hard to interpret questions written in text message form! To name a novel in a written work, underscore the title. That means the line goes underneath everything, even the spaces. Quotation marks are for plays, short stories, or journal/newspaper articles.
