The menopause heavy bleeding and serious palpertaions?

hi i had to be rushed into hospital wednesday night with a heart rate of 300 beats a minute they couldnt find a problem that caused this, i kept telling them it was my period, after i was stable they let me go home well last night sure enough the bleeding came as usual it was excessive, would HRT help with the bleedding and these rediculas palpertaions, i am 52 so guess it the menopause, i was hoping to sail through it with not to much of a problem, i have been having the heavy bleeding for about 6 months, periods have changed patteren its now about evey 6 weeks instead of every 28 days
