Corn with purple stalks and tels?

When I was a kid my dad grew great corn with bright green stalks and yellow tels. He always said it was the Kandy Korn variety. I now have my own garden and bought seeds at the co-op that were labeled Kandy Korn. however, as the stalks grew, they started turning a little purple, the tels are purple and the husks around the ears have purple streaks. Obviously not the same corn my dad used to plant. The stalks have grown to about 6 feet tall. Any idea what variety this corn is?
